Hi, this is the author of SaGia here and I've been wanting to make this post since yesterday. It's just talking about SaGia and its future that I have going forward.
Hello! This is the author and creator of SaGia, Arnézia "wimbearn" Wimberly. It's an independent comic series I've been working on since 2021. I finished Volume 1 back in 2023 and got the book printed out by the kind folks at Comix WellSpring. When I started selling the books, people mostly requested a signed copy from me and it made me happy.
I really enjoyed signing and shipping your physical copies with love. Thank you for your support on SaGia!
Anyways, about SaGia's future. That's what you came for, right? Right. Let's get into it, shall we?
I have two spinoffs that I'm considering working on. One is a tokusatsu inspired one-shot, taking place in an alternate universe away from the actual SaGia story. I started sketching my concept back in 2023 and had been thinking about it today. Spoiler: yes, the main hero is Haido, of course. Here's your first teaser look below.
As for the other spinoff, it might be revealed when I release Volume 3. It will be around a Sagian who might be a part of the main cast in Vol. 3. She hasn't been revealed in the Sagianpedia yet, but it will be an adventure-comedy comic inspired by existing 80s/90s anime, mostly The Slayers. The protagonist will break the fourth wall similar to Lina Inverse. Don't worry, she'll do it in her debut chapter in Volume 3, not just this spin-off.
Speaking of Sagianpedia, boy, it has been a while since I've last updated. It's because I'm very busy with Volume 2 at the moment and I am close to finishing Chapter 10. You can see updates on the front page of the official website. I might resume progress on the Sagianpedia when Volume 2 is close to wrapping up. Volume 2 is expected to finish in March/April of this year. I already have the pre-order listing prepared for the physical and digital copy on my Ko-fi, but it won't be up until I get it ready to be printed out at Comix WellSpring. And I have a pre-order bonus for those who do pre-order the physical copy! I won't reveal what it is until I'm ready.
Any more future stuff besides the two spin-offs?
Well, something I would love to do is to appear at conventions in my state to sell the rest of Volume 1. Something that's going on my mind for days is to have mascots of Lain and Jikiru/Haido to appear, meet people, and take photos with people while I sell my book at the table, but that would have to be in the future because the cost of getting a mascot made is a lot. Making my own mascot... well... I'm not ready for that yet because it costs a lot for materials. Yeah. I guess my only option is to bring my puppet of Haido that I made last year and do her voice for other people since I like to do voice acting. Merch is also on my mind. I already have ideas for prints and a t-shirt design.
One last thing is that I have plans on doing commentary on the first six chapters of SaGia that I worked on from 2021-2023. It will be locked behind subscribers only or a paywall for those who have been supporting me. I'm still thinking about where to do it; maybe my Ko-fi or my WordPress blog. Ko-fi could be a best choice because I can pick if I want to have only the one-time and monthly supporters read my post or monthly supporters only to read my commentary. Maybe I could open a Patreon page and do it... don't know. I'm still thinking about it. It's something that I've been having on my mind since last year. Okay... one final final thing is that SaGia is an independent project all done by me. Yep. You heard that right. All by me. I did the writing, illustration, I run the blog and website, and I worked on the trailer of Volume 1 all by myself (by the way, that was my voice as Haido, doing her signature "heh, heh, heh" laugh at the end). My parents help assist me. I didn't do the book printing... credit goes to Comix WellSpring on that. I'm considering doing a Volume 2 teaser trailer, this time with some voice actors. While I'm mostly going to do some of the voices in the trailer (Haido and possibly Asai will be voiced by me), there will be other voice actors doing the character voices (example: a male VA for Lain).
