Before Lain met Jikiru and Haido, he was just an ordinary boy.
When he was born in Harisuko, his mom and dad smiled at him together. But suddenly, when he grew up, his dad left. Lain was sad when he saw that his father was gone. Every time he would tell his mom about it, she wouldn't answer. He's afraid of his mom because she tends to shout at him if he comes home late.
Now that he's a teenager, he has gotten over that sadness and is currently in school with his best friend, Lassidy. He acts like a ditz at times which makes Lass giggle. And he is easily scared. He secretly might have a crush on Lass. But, he is nervous around her... even when she giggles if he does something stupid. His favorite food is ramen, which is why he visits Mr. Yamado.
Fast forward to present day. He now partners with Jikiru and Haido. Haido has to shout at him if he does something crazy or if he doesn't know anything. Although he's afraid of Haido, he still cares about her at times. As for Jikiru, she's a sweetheart to Lain.
